Lives on other planets

So far we know that lives are possible only on the earth. As the earth conditions are suitable  for lives of living organisms, various species of animals including birds ,insects,...and so on are found on the earth. On the earth there is sufficient amount of water along with some gases like- oxygen, carbondioxide, nitrogen etc are readily available for living organisms. Also the most important thing that is vegetations-plants,trees,forests,small plants etc are there serving us constantly.

Humans  are very greedy and strange. They know the reality that lives are limited and one day they will die,but still they find the ways in which they can live longer and maintain more comfortable lives. These purposes have led them even outside the earth in serch of lives. For lives to be possible on other planets,a few candidates hold firm feet. The major candidates are the moons of the Saturn and the Jupiter.
Europa is a moon of the Jupiter which is supposed to be suitable for lives of living organisms. At first scientists believed that the planet Mars is the best option for lives of living organisms, but later on it distressed them due to some lack that may cause failure of lives. The greatest attention is led towards the moon of Jupiter-Europa now-a-days by scientists. It is said that there is availability of water in the form of ice-cover. Other features reqired for lives are also there.
The next candidate which attracts the attention of scientists to be suitable for lives is Titan-the moon of the planet Saturn.Still a lot of research is going on to confirm lives on it.Like Europa, the necessary features required for lives is supposed to be available here.
Despite of all these researches, technologies, studies;lives are still not confirmed on these places. So,we can say by now our earth is the best place for lives to sustain.

Do Aliens exist?

This is a pretty interesting question that do aliens exist or not?Since man entered into the field of space,he showed a very  keen interest in finding the existence of other living organisms and other forms of lives on the earth, other planets, space and in the whole universe.
One such organism is supposed to be hidden from human's eyes. This is an Alien which is a creature existing outside from the earth or somehow hidden from human's eyes.Even it may be possible that they live among us on the blue planet-the earth, but we are unable to find them. They do not want to interact with us,because they do not want to share their habitat, technologies, civilisations, traditions etc. Also the reason behind it may be that they are afraid of us.
There is no confirmation that either aliens exist or not,but some evidences have been found even before the development of science that reveal the existence of aliens. Some scientist believe even including Stephen Hawkins, one of the greatest cosmologist, that we should be careful of aliens because they may cause a huge destructions for us.

What is fusion in stars?

Stars or the sun is a hot ball of gases mainly hydrogen and helium. These gases play a major role in our life along with the existence of the universe.
Stars are powered by these gases for this purpose there is a continuous reaction at the core of the stars  in which two hydrogen atoms combine together to form one helium atom and energy is released. In stars there are uncountable number of hydrogen gases and these reactions are continuous everywhere ,thus producing tremendous energy. This reaction is called "FUSION".That is why stars always gives out light or energy.

What is Cosmos?

We all are familiar with our universe.Instead of our universe there are several other universes. Our universe is so large that we can not imagine its limit.
The term 'cosmos' means 'order' and 'world'and is derived from Greek word ,but in scientific language it means a combination of stars, planets, our universe, several other universes and so on.

What are stars?

We all are very much familiar with stars as we see them in sky twinkling all through the night. Also we have read a lot of books like-poem,stories regarding stars. So, a question arises that what is a star?

Let me explain:A star is a heavenly celestial body which is a combination of gases mostly hydrogen and helium. Our nearest star to the earth is the sun.It is luminous in nature so that it has its own light system.
At the core region of a star there is a continuous reaction in between hydrogen and helium gases producing huge energies in the form of photon and reaction is called fusion.A star has very strong gravitational force which holds its gases and other materials within a compact space.

WHAT IS BLACK HOLE?

A black hole is a region in space such that no light can get out from here. Here strength of gravity is much that everything near it get pulled towards it.It happens because a large mass is squeezed into a small space occuring when a star is dying.
Its sizes differ. Some black hole may be small while others large. The largest black holes are called "Supermassive".Another kind of black holes are called "Steller" whose mass may be 20 times the mass of the sun.

WHAT ARE GALAXIES?

Our universe is so big that we can not imagine.Let's start from the earth. We live on the blue planet-the Earh. The earth is a part of our solar system which consists of a group of 8 planets including the earth revolving around the sun which is our nearest star.
Also there are several solar systems having there own stars. The number of stars is numerous in the universe. These stars of of specific solar systems with there planets alongwith dust particle, gases, and billions of  such other stars constitute galaxies. Our galaxy name is "Milkyway" in which our solar system including the earth and the sun lie.

How to save energy?

We know very well that resources available on the earth are limited.Ultimately they will finish,so that it is necessary for us to save energy and find such sources of  energy that will last for a long time.If we become successful in doing so,we will lead a royal and comfortable life.Following methods will help you in our purpose-
1.Use of solar energy.
2.Use of tidal energy.
3.Use of wind energy.
4.Use of hudroelectricity.
5.Recycling of metals and other substances.
6.Use of artificial matter instead of natural.
7.Use of cow dung to produce energy.
8.Use of garbage materials to produce energy and other purposes.
7.Less use of minerals.
9.Less use of petrol,diesel,................
10.Less use of vehicles for going to nearby places.
11.Use of natural sources of energy by scientific methods.
12.Use of solar vehicles and cycles.

THE HISTORY OF HUMAN IN SPACE

It was the time on 12th April 1961,when using the spacecraft Vostok-1,Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin became the first man to travel into space. He was accompanied by a 27 years old test pilot and industrial technician. The Vostok-1 was orbitting the earth at 187 miles
of altitude.During it Gagarin statement was-"Flight is proceeding normally.I am well."The time duration was 1 hour and 48 minutes.
After his historical journey of space,he became popular like a celebrity. He was rewarded and given the title of  "Hero of the Soviet Union".Roads were renamed in his honor. They were named according to his name.
It challenged the U.S. as they scheduled to launch the first space flight on in May 1961. The Soviet Union space program was in lead by Gagarin as compared to U.S. space program. Gagarin had already orbitted the earth when U.S. started its space program by astronaut John Glenn who made three orbit of earth in "Friendship7".By that time Soviet Union advanced their space race in August 1961 by sending cosmonaut Ghermon Titov by Vostok-2 who made 17 orbits of the earth and spent a time more than 25 hours in space.

WHY DOES THE MOON CHANGES ITS SHAPE?

The changing shapes of the moon on a regular basis is due to the effects of the sun's light. The part of the moon that faces the sun, gets lighted up.Since the moon orbits the earth, this portion of receiving light from the sun changes. When the moon is exactly in between the sun and the earth, the part of the moon we see looks completely dark. After some time when the moon changes its position,we find some portion of the moon lighted up by the sun and can see easily. When some more portion of the moon is lighted by the sun,we see different size of the moon from the earth. In this way the process gets repeated.

That's why we see different sizes of the moon moment after moment. Also this graduall process is continuous.Due to the above reasons,we find different light and sizes of the moon on different ocassions.

THE HUMAN EYE

The human eye is one of the precious organs among all the others. It reacts with light and prsessure to produce a three dimensional image of an object. It has rod and cone cell which get active in darkness and day light. The nearest point upto which the eyes can easily see is called least distance of distinct vision. Our eyes have some special parts which allows us for clear vision. These are-
Iris
Pupil
Cornea
Choroid
Sclera
Optic nerve
Lens
Ciliary muscle........... and so on.

Earthworm:Farmer's best friend

A farmer knows very well how to do farming and what are factors affecting the production of his crops.Usually he need to plough his lands to allow the air, water, sunlight and other necessary things reach to the internal part of crops for better growth, but he can not do all these things readily.

Thanks to his best friend the EARTHWORM who does his functions without any fees or salary. An earthworm lives underground soil.He makes tunnels or holes during his whole life periods allowing the necessary factors available for crops for their developments and better growth.

THE MODERN PERIODIC TABLE

The periodic tabel shown above is an example of modern periodic table know as lonf form of periodic table. It is divided into 18 groups and 7 periods. It is based on the magic number 2,8,8,18 and 32 after which their properties get repeated.
All elements of the same group have equal no of valence electrons, valency, chemical properties, melting and boiling points. The elements of the group 18 are non-reactive.The atomic radii of the elements of the same group increase down the group.
There are 2 elements in the first period known as very short period. We find 8 elements in the 2nd and 3rd periods each called short periods.4th and 5th periods have 18 elements each known as long periods.6th and 7th periods have 32 elements each called long periods.Atomic radii of the elements decrease from left to right .Along a period the metallic character of the elements decrease while the non-metallic character increase.

LEAVES:THE WORLD KITCHEN

Leaves have a greenish part called chlorophyll due to which they appear green.Leaves use sunlight, carbon dioxide, water in presence of these chlorophyll and start a chemical reaction forming foods for plants, trees, crops etc. These foods are stored in the fruits of plants, trees, crops .......and so on.
That's why leaves are regarded as kitchen of the plant, trees, crops etc.Best we can say it as kitchen of the world because they synthesise foods for the whole world including human, animals, birds and whatever living things present on the earth.

TYPES OF HYBRID ORBITAL

There are two types of hybrid orbitals:
(1)Sigma hybrid orbital
(2)Pi hybrid orbital

σ(SIGMA) HYBRID ORBITAL:
It is a hybrid orbital having cylinderical symmetry in relation to the line joining the nuclei which are linked. For sigma hybrid orbital λ=0.We measure the bond angle for a given atom by considering the bond angle beteen its sigma bond.

ㄫ(PI)HYBRID ORBITAL:
It is a type of hybrid orbital for which  λ=1.The axes of a π bond and a σ  bond always coincide with each other.

VALENCE BOND THEORY

The valence bond theory was proposed by Heitler and London in 1927 to explain the nature of covalent bond which was later modified by Pauling and Slater in 1931 to explain the directional characteristics of covalent bond.
The various postulates of valence bond theory are:

  1. A covalent bond is formed when an atom of half filled orbital overlaps with the other atom which is also half filled.
  2. The combining orbitals merge together to form a localised molecular orbital in which both the electrons occupy the place. Two types of covalent bond include-sigma(σ) and pi(π) bond.
  3. The two electrons which occupy the same localised molecular orbital must have opposite spins.
  4. The localised molecular orbital is said to belong to the electrons of both the combining atoms.
  5. Maximum electron density lies some where in the overlapped region. The electrostatic force binds together the covalently bonded atoms which is attractive in nature.
  6. Another force responsible for the formation of covalent bond is neutralisation of spin magnetic moment of the two electrons which take part in bond formation.

Limitations of valence bond theory;

  1. There certain case like formation of hydronium ion(H₃O+) in which filled 2p-orbital of the central oxygen atom of H₂O overlaps with the vacant 1s-orbital of H+ ion to form [H₂O➡O]+ ion.
  2. According to valence bond theory B₂ and O₂ are diamagnetic but in real they are paramagnetic because there are two unpaired electrons.
  3. This theory does not explain bond length, bond angle etc, For example-In methane (CH₄) molecule all bond length are found to be equal experimentally.According to valence bond theory ,three C-H bond length are equal (s-p σ bond) and fourth C-H bond length is not same(s-s σ bond).                                                                    Tarbej Ansari
